Clean and dry the scalp area before applying the medication. The solution can be applied to damp hair. To apply the solution, fill the applicator with 1 milliliter of medication or use 20 drops. Part your hair in the thinning area and evenly distribute the solution on the affected scalp area. Gently massage it in and allow it to dry completely before using any other hair styling products or going to bed.
For the foam, rinse your hands with cold water and dry them thoroughly. Apply approximately 1/2 capful of foam to the scalp and gently massage it in. Let the foam dry completely before styling your hair or going to bed.
If scalp irritation occurs, consider avoiding the use of minoxidil on the same days as hair coloring or chemical treatments. Do not apply to irritated, cut, or infected skin. Wash your hands thoroughly after application and avoid getting the medication in your eyes. If contact occurs, rinse your eyes with cool water.
Do not exceed the recommended dosage or apply more frequently than directed. This may result in serious side effects.
Common side effects may include burning, stinging, or redness at the application site. If these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Serious side effects, though rare, may include unwanted facial/body hair, dizziness, rapid or irregular heartbeat, fainting, chest pain, swelling of hands/feet, unusual weight gain, fatigue, and difficulty breathing (especially when lying down). Seek medical attention immediately if you experience any of these symptoms.
If an overdose is suspected, seek emergency medical attention or contact a poison control center immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, drowsiness, fainting, and flushing.
Inform your doctor of all medications you are currently taking to avoid potential drug interactions. This includes prescription/non-prescription drugs and herbal products.
Before using minoxidil, inform your doctor or pharmacist of any allergies you may have or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients that could cause allergic reactions or other problems.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you have any scalp diseases, heart problems, kidney disease, or liver disease, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
